Biography

Sara Enrico lives in Torino.

She has exhibited her works in istitutions in Italy and abroad, including: GAM Milano – Fondazione Furla; Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea; Palazzo Collicola, Spoleto; OGR- Officine Grandi Riparazioni, Turin; 59. International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia; Ausstellungsraum der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien; American Academy in Rome; Národní galerie Praha, Prague; Mart, Museo d’Arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto; Centrale Fies Art Work Space, Dro; OFF Biennale Cairo, Cairo; Marsèlleria, New York; PAV Parco Arte Vivente, Torino; Biennale Internazionale Arte in Memoria, Sinagoga, Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica (Roma); Les Instants Chavirès, Montreuil (Paris); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Torino; Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como; and Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino.

She is the 3rd edition (2026) of Arcolaio Art Prize artist, a project in collaboration with Fondazione Malvina Menegaz. In 2025, she is been invited to the residency program LaunchPad Lab in southwest France.
She received the 2021 Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT Italian Fellowship in Visual Arts at the American Academy in Rome, and in the same year, she received a production grant for Cantica21, in collaboration with MACTE, Termoli.
In 2018 she was the recipient of a grant from the IV edition of the Italian Council, a competition by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) – the organ of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
She got the New York Prize 2017-2018, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MIBACT), the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, and the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies ­ Columbia University, and in residence at International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York. In the same year, she won the Menabrea Art Prize, and in 2020 the Premio Michetti.

In 2024-2025 she has been part of the ensemble of UNA SCUOLA AL CASTELLO DI RIVOLI, established in 2024 by artist Cally Spooner and curator Lilou Vidal; a place for postgraduate art education based at the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and in the Piedmont area.
Co-founder of Laboratorio del Dubbio, a series of residencies and a cross-disciplinary platform developed into seven chapters (Turin, 2016). She took part in Progetto Diogene, between 2008 and 2012, as an artistic self-identity group of people working together. Located in an old tram carriage in the middle of a roundabout in the public area of Turin, the project runs as an international residency program, talks, and events.

Since 2019, she has been Politecnico delle Arti – Academy of Fine Arts professor in Bergamo. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, and she attended a training course in Restoration at the Istituto Spinelli in Florence.
